How do I choose the right tattoo studio in Berlin?
Look for clean workspaces, certified artists, healed results (not just Instagram filters!) and honest consultation. A good tattoo studio in Berlin shows you healed photos, talks placement and style (hand tattoos, finger tattoos, face tattoos) and doesn’t pressure you.
What should I look for in a professional tattoo artist?
A strong portfolio, consistency, and the ability to say no when something won’t work. Check if they master your preferred style — realism, fine line, or geometric tattoos — and communicate clearly.
How safe are tattoos today?
Super safe in professional studios that use sterile single-use needles and certified inks. The only real risk comes from poor aftercare. Follow instructions, and you’ll be fine.
Are tattoos permanent or do they fade over time?
They’re permanent — but exposure to sun, friction, or bad aftercare can make them fade a bit. Hand tattoos and finger tattoos usually fade faster.
What’s the best season to get a tattoo?
Spring or autumn. You’ll avoid sunburns, beach water, and sweat. Winter works great for large pieces like arm tattoos or back tattoos.
Can tattoos be removed completely?
Some yes, some no. Lighter colors and old pigments are tricky. Laser removal takes time, money, and patience — better to get it right from the start 😉
Are vegan tattoo inks available?
Yes – in our studio, almost all inks are vegan, REACH-compliant, and of course not tested on animals. If you have any allergies or sensitivities, please let us know in advance so we can choose the right inks for you.
How old do I have to be to get a tattoo in Germany?
As a general rule in Germany, tattoos are recommended from the age of 18.
However, we tattoo from the age of 16 if the following conditions are met:
- Written consent from both legal guardians,
- Copies of valid IDs from both legal guardians and the minor,
- Clear definition of the design, size, and placement of the tattoo,
- Ideally, the presence of at least one parent or legal guardian during the appointment.
The consent form can be requested in advance or filled out directly at the studio.
Important:
For clients under 18, we do not tattoo the face, neck, hands, or other exposed/high-risk areas.

Tattoo Process & Booking
How do I book a tattoo appointment at OMEN Tattoo?
Use the contact form, WhatsApp, or drop by. The more details you share about your idea, style, and placement (arm, hand, thigh), the easier it is to match you with the right artist.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. A deposit is required for every appointment booking.
It secures your appointment, covers the artist’s preparation time, and is fully deducted from the final price.
According to our TERMS & CONDITIONS the deposit will be forfeited in case of no-show or late cancellation.
Note:
No deposit is required for walk-ins.
How long is the waiting time for a session?
Depends on the artist and style. Small tattoos or fine line tattoos might be available sooner; realism or large geometric tattoos take longer. Walk-in days are for spontaneous ideas.
How should I prepare for my tattoo appointment?
Sleep well, eat properly, stay hydrated, no alcohol or drugs, and wear comfy clothes. Bring reference images if you have them.
Should I eat before my session?
Definitely. Low blood sugar = low fun.
Can I bring someone?
Yes, you may bring one accompanying person.
Whether they can stay with you in the treatment room during the session depends on the artist, the project, and the available space. With prior arrangement, this is usually possible — as long as the person remains calm and does not interfere with the process.
Can I get tattooed if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. For medical and hygiene reasons, we do not tattoo during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
The risk of complications is higher, and the immune system is already under significant strain.
Tattoo Healing & Aftercare
How long does it take for a tattoo to heal?
Surface healing: approx. 7–14 days. Fully healed: 4–6 weeks. Larger areas, arm tattoos, and colorful realism tattoos often take a bit longer.
How should I clean my new tattoo?
Wash 2–3 times daily with lukewarm water and a pH-neutral soap, pat dry, and apply a thin layer of aftercare. No baths.
Which aftercare products are the best?
Tattoo-specific creams. No coconut oil, no Vaseline.
Can I shower after getting a tattoo?
Yes - short showers only. No soaking, no hot baths.
When can I go swimming again?
After it’s fully healed — usually 3–4 weeks. Lakes and pools are bacteria traps.
Is it normal if my tattoo peels or scabs?
Totally. Don’t scratch. Let it do its thing.
How can I prevent infections?
Keep it clean, don’t fiddle with it, no touching by others, and no gym workouts on shared equipment with a fresh tattoo. If you notice redness or swelling → contact us.
How do I protect my tattoo from the sun?
SPF 50 always - especially for hand tattoos, finger tattoos, and face tattoos.
Tattoo Costs & Pain
How much does a tattoo cost in Berlin? Can I get a tattoo for 30 euros?
Only if you get it from your very motivated roommate — but not in a reputable studio 😅 (and we definitely don’t recommend it).
In a professional studio, tattoos start at a higher price because material costs, hygiene standards, experience, and safe execution all play an important role. The price always depends on the size, style, level of detail, and the placement on the body. Best approach: send us a quick inquiry, show us your idea, and we’ll honestly tell you what to expect.
Our advice: Better to invest properly once than to face high costs later for cover-ups or laser treatments.
Does size or placement affect the price?
Yes. Price factors include:
- Size and level of detail
- Style
- Time required
- Anatomical complexity of the body area
Hands, fingers, neck, face, ribs, and intimate areas are technically more demanding, more mobile, or more sensitive and require greater experience. This affects both the cost and the time required.
Which body parts hurt the most?
Ribs, stomach, back of the knee, foot, inner arm, spine. The outer arm, upper arm, and calf are usually more relaxed.
How can I reduce tattoo pain?
The following measures can help:
- Get a good night’s sleep and eat beforehand
- Drink plenty of water
- No alcohol or partying the day before
- Breathe calmly and don’t tense up
- Listen to music, watch a show, or chat to distract yourself
We also offer:
- Numbing creams that need to be applied 30–90 minutes before the appointment
- During-procedure sprays that can be used while tattooing (after consultation)
Not every design is suitable for numbing products — we’ll advise you individually.

How do I choose the right tattoo design?
Think about it: will it still suit you in five years? Does it fit the body placement? Small designs work best on small areas (fingers, hands), larger designs on larger surfaces (arms, thighs, back). And choose an artist who truly masters the style you want.
Do you make custom designs?
Yes. All of our artists work individually and cover nearly every style — from fine line to realism, from neo-tribal to blackwork. The clearer your vision, the more precisely we can develop the design. We’re happy to support you with:

Can I bring my own design?
Yes, absolutely. You’re welcome to bring your own drawings, designs from friends, or various reference images.
Recommendation:
For more complex designs, we suggest bringing at least 1–2 references so we can clearly understand the direction you’re aiming for.
If you’re still unsure, we’re happy to develop your vision together during a free consultation and discuss what’s realistically possible and how it can be implemented in the best way.

Can you cover old tattoos?
Often yes, but not every tattoo can be covered. The darker the old tattoo, the larger or more colorful the cover-up usually needs to be. Feel free to come by for a free consultation — we’ll tell you exactly what’s possible in your specific case.
What’s the difference between realism, traditional, and minimalist tattoos?
Realism: detailed, photo-like, often portraits.
Traditional: bold lines, strong colors, timeless.
Minimalism / Fine Line: subtle, elegant, but more delicate.
Your artist will tell you what works best for your specific placement.
Why is cyber sigilism so popular right now - and what does this style mean?
Cyber sigilism is basically Gen Z meets digital witchcraft. The style blends futuristic lines, glitchy symbols, and occult vibes — like tattoos from another dimension.
It’s actually a modern evolution of tribal and linework aesthetics, just with more tech energy and internet magic.
Why is it so popular? Because it’s mysterious, aesthetic, and extremely Instagram- and TikTok-friendly. And because Gen Z finally wanted a style that doesn’t look like something their uncle got in the ’90s.
Piercing Basics
What types of piercings do you offer? How much does it cost to get pierced?
We offer piercings for the ear (lobe, helix, tragus, conch, snug), nose, septum, lips, eyebrow, navel, and more — depending on the piercer. Jewelry is available directly at our studio.

How old do I need to be for a piercing in Germany?
Piercings are generally possible from ages 14–16, depending on the type of piercing, with:
- Valid ID
- Written consent from a legal guardian
- Ideally, the presence of a parent or guardian
Intimate piercings are strictly 18+.
Can I bring my own jewelry?
Yes, as long as the jewelry is high quality, hygienic, and suitable for an initial piercing (e.g. titanium, PTFE, implant-grade materials).
If you don’t bring your own, we offer a wide selection of high-quality jewelry in various price ranges at the studio — using only certified materials.
How long does a piercing appointment take?
A piercing appointment usually takes 10–20 minutes, but depending on the placement and consultation needs, it can take up to 30 minutes.

Does it hurt?
Short answer: yes — but many people say, “it wasn’t nearly as bad.” Earlobes are easy; cartilage and septum piercings are a bit more intense.
Piercing Healing & Aftercare
How long does healing take?
Earlobe: 4–6 weeks. Cartilage: 3–6 months. Nose/lip: 2–3 months. Navel: sometimes longer.
How should I clean it?
Clean twice daily with sterile saline solution, don’t twist or play with it, keep hands clean. No alcohol and no harsh products.
What should I avoid during healing?
Swimming pools, saunas, applying makeup directly on it, dirt, sports with friction, and other people’s hands. Don’t hold your phone against it.
How do I know if it’s infected?
Severe redness, heat, throbbing pain, pus-like discharge, or an unpleasant smell. If this happens, please contact us — and don’t try to treat it yourself with vodka 😅
When can I change the jewelry?
Only once it's fully fully healed. Cartilage takes time! Better to wait three months longer than deal with three months of inflammation.
Will my piercing close if I take it out for a few hours?
Fresh ones — yes. Older ones — maybe. Better not risk it.

How do you sterilize your tools?
We work according to the highest hygiene and public health standards:
- Sterile single-use needles
- Sterile disposable grips and tools (where possible)
- Professional sterilization using autoclaves and BioPro high-end systems
- Disinfected workstations
- Documented hygiene procedures and full traceability of all tools

Always. No exceptions.
What certifications should a tattoo studio have?

Tattoo Myths & Facts
Do tattoos hurt more if you’re skinny or fat?
Not really. Placement, how you’re feeling that day, and the length of the session matter much more than your body type.
Do people faint?
Occasionally. Eat and you’ll be fine.
Will tattoos look bad if I get pregnant or gain weight?
Good tattoos move with your body. Extreme stretching can cause distortion, but arms and legs are usually safe.
Can tattoos get infected?
Yes, with bad aftercare. Redness or swelling = call us.
Can I get tattooed with diabetes or health issues?
In many cases, yes. Please inform us in advance so we can assess whether any additional precautions are necessary. In some situations, a medical opinion or consultation may be required.
Do hand or foot tattoos always fade?
They fade faster because of friction.
Can every tattoo be removed by laser?
No. Some pigments resist laser. It’s a process.
Can you get HIV or hepatitis from tattoo needles?
In clean studios that use disposable materials: no. Risk only arises under unhygienic conditions.
Is tattoo ink dangerous?
EU-approved inks are safe. We use approved inks. If you’re very sensitive or prone to reactions → let us know in advance.
Do tattoos look bad when you’re old?
Only if they were poorly done or never properly cared for. Well-executed tattoos can still look solid even at 70 and more.
Can I donate blood after getting tattooed?
Yes, after 4–6 months.
Does colored ink hurt more?
Usually not. Color is often worked into the skin for longer, which is why it tends to feel more intense.
Piercing Myths & Facts
Should I twist my piercing to help it heal?
No, that just irritates it.
Can I clean it with vodka or peroxide?
No. It’s too harsh, irritating, and can delay healing. Please use only sterile saline solution (0.9% NaCl).
Can I swim right after?
No, wait until it’s healed.
Can my friends touch it?
Only if they are a doctor 😂 otherwise: no.
Can I skip aftercare if it looks fine?
No, healing skin still needs care.
Should I remove it if it’s red?
Not immediately. First, take proper care of it, then come see us if needed. Removing it too early can trap the infection.
Can I put makeup or sunscreen over it?
Not until healed.
Can I get several piercings at once?
Yes, that’s absolutely possible.

Please don’t. It bleeds more, heals worse, and we may not be allowed to tattoo you.
Do people cry during tattoos?
Yes, sometimes — especially with emotional designs… or rib tattoos 😅
Can you tattoo my boyfriend’s name and remove it for free later?
Nope 😄 we recommend thinking twice.
Do people ever fall asleep while getting tattooed?
